Out of all of your favorite books, pick just one you'd recommend everyone read. As a bonus: why did you pick that one?

Oh, this is a tough one.

Actually, I think I'd recommend the Screwtape Letters. It's witty, intelligent, and will give you something to think about.

You finally have an excuse to use it—what userpic do you not get to use very often but can't delete because it's just that awesome?

Man, I've got a ton of those. But the tops has to be this one.

I really do with I could use it more. It's awesome.

TODAY I GOT TO HOLD A BOOK THAT WAS OVER 500 YEARS OLD.

I had to wear gloves, but I got to leaf through the pages and feel the print (through the gloves) and look at the pictures. I'd read it, but it was in italian.

Also got to look at a copy of an old medieval bestiary. It had what appeared to be a woman being raped by a dragon, and a bull defecating fire on some knights who were stabbing it. There were also cool pictures of peacocks and phoenixes, and some mermaids and centaurs.

Writer's Block: Department of Stereotypes

One of the most popular gender stereotypes is that women ask for directions while men would rather be lost than ask for help. In your personal experience, does this stereotype hold true?

No. I always print directions ahead of time and carry a map.

But if I absolutely have to, I ask for directions. But so does my Dad. -shrugs-

If I were in school at the moment, I would love you massively. It would mean a day off, with nothing but mild Tropical Storm winds, and that would be awesome.

...unfortunately, you decided to come the week before I start classes. I was supposed to go to Orlando to help get things ready ahead of time, but nooooo. You had to fuck that up. And then, my mom's school is out. This means I will be bitched at to clean the house. My dad will be at work, so he can't provide any relief from it. Oh, and my aunt is coming to visit this weekend. Which is awesome, but Fay cleaning + normal house cleaning will be hell on Earth.

Fay, we could have had some good times, if you'd just waited a week. But you had to come now. Thanks for screwing things up for me.

Ah well. Hurricanes are still always kinda fun. XD And I have a legitimate excuse to stay indoors all day and (once cleaning is done) play with my Transformers toys with my sister. So I don't totally hate you, Fay. I'll go and dance in the storm, even, because damnit, I missed hurricane season.

I'm off to the Rockies for about a week. So, in particular to my RP buddies, I'll be gone until August 3rd or so.

Who introduced you to LiveJournal? Why did you first open an account or get involved?

I actually made an LJ in order to read various communities here. XD I never post in my personal journal, really. I just keep up with different communities.

Okay, so I never update this damn thing, but this was worthy of mention.

I got the Marvel Newsletter thing in my email today, and as usual, I began skimming it. This issue was all about ComicCon updates, and had the usual stuff I didn't really care about.

Then, I spotted two things that just made me fall into fits of fangirlish glee.

One: DEADPOOL! Marvel has listened to our pleas, and there's gonna be a new ongoing series later this year. AND Deadpool's gonna play a role in the new Secret Invasion plot. Yes! Not to mention the new Deadpool Classic TPB set.

My Deadpool plush and I are eagerly waiting.

Two: ENDER'S GAME and ENDER'S SHADOW. I adore that whole set of books, because it really is a brilliant work of fiction. And now comics? Be still, my beating heart! It looks fantastic so far. And I've loved the Dark Tower stuff so far, so I have high hopes for this.

So basically, Marvel will be claiming much of my money this year. But it will be worth it.

...just to see if there was anyone out there on their site that matched.

Guess what? I am so amazingly bizarre and awesome, that I had no matches at all. Out of the thousands, even millions of people on their site, not one matched.

However shall I find my dream geekboy to watch Star Wars, read comics, and go to anime conventions with? XD Yeah, see this is why eHarmony turned me down. XD A 19 year old girl with the mind of a sage and a 5-year-old fanboy merged into one. Plus a little mad scientist and supervillain for good measure.

On the other hand, got an idea for NaNoWriMo when I talked with my sister today. Either a consultant for supervillains/heroes, or maybe the tale of a henchman. They have no job security at all, poor guys. And the tacky costumes they have to wear sometimes!  Seriously.

Hello everyone! I'm Natalie, and this is my blog. Blog #2, in fact, which will detail the chronicles of my dull life. XD At least what I feel like sharing or ranting about.

Blog #1 is for my Engineering Class, and is reserved for profound, insightful, or just entertaining comments.

Being restricted as to what to write is irritating. This blog is mine. You just get to read it. XD So what I write, well, here's to hoping it entertains you. But if it doesn't, oh well. That wasn't my goal to start with.
